ABOUT

About Us

The Cincinnati Horticultural Society (CHS) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization established in 1989 to produce horticultural exhibitions that are a benchmark for excellence.

What We Do

Recognition – Through our Gardener Recognition program, Secret Garden Tour and other awards programs we encourage and acknowledge exceptional horticultural achievement.

Events – The Cincinnati Horticultural Society is the producer of The Cincinnati Flower Show, “the King of All Flower Shows” per Better Homes & Gardens magazine.  Our popular and acclaimed events throughout the year educate and inspire guests while showcasing the talents of the area’s landscapers, garden designers and floral designers. These events provide funding for the Flower Show and  our other programs and projects.

Education – CHS is committed to nurturing the relationship between children and the natural world through our programs like Fresh Air School, Agriculture Education Day and the Children’s Potting Program.

Community Beautification – The CHS has provided financial resources, counsel, support, and in some cases the labor for projects to improve public spaces such as Owl’s Nest Park, Children’s Hospital Respite Gardens and the YWCA Battered Women’s Shelter. In 2013 we provided financial support to the Veterans Serenity Garden at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
