CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
Agricultural Education Day
More than 500 third and fourth grade students enjoyed a day at Symmes Park for Agriculture Education Day, a collaboration with the Hamilton County Farm Bureau, the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation, and Hamilton County Environmental Services. The goal of the program is to bring the farm to the city.
Children experience many hands-on activities including Apple Pie School. The students put together the ingredients for an apple pie and then are able to take it home with them when it is finished. The Horticultural Society has participated in this event since 2008 providing transportation for more than 3500 children, teachers and chaperones for this very unique and fun filled day. The CHS is pleased to support this project as it supports our mission which includes teaching children about horticulture and the environment.
Thanks to our many volunteers for making this program possible.
